Standing the Test of Time

  

    Ilocos Sur National High School recently observed its 121st anniversary since its inception through its yearly High School Celebration held on the 25th of March, 2023. The event was sadly absent for the previous two years due to the pervasive COVID-19 pandemic. This year's commemoration went by the theme "Renewed Commitment in Defying Odds To Transcend Heights of Excellence and Solidarity," signifying the school's unwavering dedication to rise to greater heights of academic achievement. The festivities comprised various activities, including a captivating Field Demonstration featuring the artistic and athletic prowess of the Junior High School students.

    Celebrating our high school's foundation day is an occasion of great significance for the students, teachers, and the institution's history. It provides a feeling of belonging to the students, who participate in activities, showcasing their talents and skills. It also allows them to celebrate our school's past and the significant events that have shaped its identity, instilling a sense of tradition and continuity. For teachers, the occasion is an opportunity to reflect on our school's achievements and to inspire students to aspire towards excellence in all their endeavors. Moreover, celebrating our school's foundation day ensures that the school's history and legacy are preserved and cherished, serving as a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who came before and the vision that has driven the institution toward greatness.

    While I chose not to partake in the school's foundation day festivities, I still appreciated the importance of the event for those who chose to participate. I took solace in knowing that my fellow students and teachers had a great time celebrating the school's history and achievements. By recognizing the significance of the occasion, even from a distance, I felt a sense of pride in ISNHS and a connection to its past and present.

    Ultimately, celebrating ISNHS' High School Day is a time-honored tradition that brings together the school community and creates a lasting sense of unity and purpose.
